She Drives Me Crazy
Regularly, my boss makes my brain bleed out my ears.
Here are three recent examples:
Example One:
Boss: "Can you do the floral area for me today? J set it all up the other day but it's not what I want - I want it to be like when you walk into a florist and select different blooms from each part of the display to make up your own arrangement. J's combined all the flowers so it's like a whole lot of pre made arrangements and it's hard to find anything. I want all the blooms seperated."
Me: "No problem! I know exactly what you want."
Boss: "Oh but you know, just tidy it rather than change it because I don't want to hurt J's feelings."
Me: "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight."
Example Two:
Boss: "If you get a chance can you dust those three dark tables?"
Me: "Sure. I may as well do all the tables in the store"
Boss "Oh well, you know, just the dusty ones."
Me: "That would be... ALL OF THEM."
Example Three:
Boss: "Could you bring the rest of the cushions down from upstairs and put them into the cushion wall - but don't worry about fussing too much with the colours or anything because there's so much to do, just get them in there."
Later, on viewing the cushion wall in which I was almost finished placing the cushions into the colour lots that had already been set up rather than pulling the whole lot apart and redoing the colour lots to make it into a colour focal point which is what I would NORMALLY do...
Boss: " Now, remember we want this to be a focal point, it's all looking rather neutral here! Maybe you could bring those bright colours from that side and put them over here or just take a few bright ones and dot them here and there. Oh and make the cushions go in patterns, you know three this way and three that way and so on!"
Me: "NNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!"
